Peter asked: Okay, in all honesty, how much does financial aid affect college admission into top-tier schools, such as Ivies, Georgetown, Boston College, and Northwestern.
I’m hoping to apply to these schools for admission in fall of 2012.
My parents are offering to pay, but I don’t want to burden them too much. I know some schools are “need blind”, but in actuality, how much does financial aid affect college admission.

Pus gums asked: I’m going for a Masters in SPED- but seeing how I am in financial dire straights, will depend heavily on any financial aid I can procure. My credit is pretty bad, so a bank loan is not an option….
What type of financial aid options do SPED graduate students usually utilize?
thanks

I am in high school and I live with my mom. She’s a single mom and makes about $30,000 per year. If I want to go to Cal State Northridge or San Diego State, how much will financial aid cover?

melissa asked: How is financial aid for colleges awarded?
What is it based on?
If this helps:
deceased father, unemployed mother at the moment (gets widows/unemployment pension)
Is it based on actual money or like grades? I have no idea

Kinsey asked:
Hi, I’m a junior in high school and am constantly thinking about college. I really want to end up in New York somehow, but I live in Florida right now. If I did get into a school there, I would have to get financial aid and scholarships because my parents just can’t afford that much.
Anyone have any great advice?

Peace Maker asked:
I want to apply to some medical program, but the problem is, how does Financial Aid work? Is it possible to get loans easily (without a cosigner) all for years, or does trouble come somewhere down the line on how to cover costs? What options do I have…HELP! Thanks and God bless!

I am planning on enrolling at a college this fall. I am a new student and have filled out my FAFSA already. I have gone to a group advising meeting and am now able to meet with an advisor individually. I don’t know yet what student loans I am eligible for though. Should I meet with a financial aid advisor first or should I go ahead and meet with the enrollment advisor and register for my classes? What’s the best order to do things in? Thanks!

MLAchick69 asked:
I’ve graduated with a BA in Journalism in 2007 and i’m having a hard time finding work. I want to begin attending graduate’s school, but I’m dirt poor. The only way I could afford college was through financial aid, and I used my parent’s income to do so. Does Columbia School of Journalim accept financial aid? If so, can I still use my parent’s income ? ( I still live at home). If Columbia doesn’t accept financial aid, can someone please list graduate schools that do.

Dan M asked: Hi,
I am going to apply to New York University for the 2009 fall semester.
I was wondering whether it has a good reputation of giving enough Financial Aid for the average middle class person.
Thanks.
