I have been supporting my fiance while he goes to school for two years. Previously he went to a community college and now he goes to a university.( more expensive). If I claim him on my taxes, then he will have to use my figures to apply for financial aid, correct? Is it better not to claim him so he can be independent. He has no income and goes full time. I decided I would like to go back to college to get an aa in human services but my 17yr son just received his G.E.D. and stated he would also like to go to college to get an aa in psychology. I work make less than15,000 and my husband (step-dad) makes about 32,000 and we have 3 kids,and house payment etc. My question is this can we both get financial aid and go to college at the same time.

I am wanting to study for one year at Bond University in Australia starting with the Jan ‘08 semester. It is significantly more expensive than the college I attend here in America, and I’m curious as to if my financial aid (pell grant, sub loan, and unsub loan) will step up and cover the additional costs of my adventure, or if it’s only going to give me a set about and leave me short on funds.

I’ve already applied to Georgia Tech, and it’s my number one choice for college. Even though we earn almost 100K a year, certain things have made life rather hard for us and we’re over 50K in debt, not counting payments on both the houses.
My mother said it was only 9K for financial aid, and out of state tuition is about 27K per year.
For certain personal issues, I’m not too inclined to believe her, and I cant find that information anywhere on the website. Can you help me?
