i am wondering if anyone knows if there is financial aid available to allow me to live while i go through school to teach, meaning, i would like to go to school fulltime, but need money to pay bills while in school. My father owns a small business with a friend. He does not make enough to cover my college education. I’m wondering if I would still receive enough financial aid to enable me to go to a private college (approx $50000/yr). As far as assets, he does not make money owning the corporation, but from a salary.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.
my parents’ combined income is less than 40,000. does that make a difference? or does the fact that my dad owns part of a corporation automatically means he should be able to afford my college expenses?

Alexandria B asked:

I read somewhere that I could receive up to 18,500 a year in Financial Aid for Graduate school. I work full time and made some good money last year, but only enough to survive really. Is this 18,500 bases on financial need, or is it available to anyone no matter what the income level you earned in a year?
